The elected Head of Events will work to organise station-wide socials and events. It is very much up to the elected individual to decide which events are run – historically this has included Matchmakers (Speed dating), a World Mental Health Day broadcast and the Three Campus (Streatham, St Luke’s and Penryn) Challenge, though as a student radio station we are always looking for new ideas to stand out.
They will plan, and run, station-wide and content-team socials on a regular basis. They should work to ensure there is variety in the socials offered (such as non-alcoholic socials) to cater to the station’s membership. They will also work to assist content team heads with the planning and delivery of their specific events, such as 24 Hours Live and sabbatical officer elections.
Additionally, the Head of Events supports the Station Manager, Deputy Station Manager and Programmes Controller with the planning of our annual Alumni Weekend, which sees the station running two days of events in the station for our former members. They would also be welcome to support with any other initiatives to maintain our relationship with alumni.
