Add to BasketMoxie is a podcast-style, open-discussion community where we talk honestly about mental health, female friendship, men's emotional well-being, love, literature, movies, identity, OCD, periods, grief, joy, and everything in between. Rooted in empowerment and creativity, Moxie aims to open up discussions around mental health, feminism, relationships, and identity through podcast-style meetups, zine-making, film nights, and creative events.
Moxie will aim to create a welcoming community where everyone, regardless of gender, feels heard and supported.
Moxie is about turning vulnerability into strength. While Exeter already has brilliant societies such as FemSoc, I believe Moxie would be complementary rather than overlapping. FemSoc does fantastic work in activism, campaigning, and political feminism. Moxie, in contrast, is more community- and conversation-focused: a space for informal discussions, creativity, and peer support. It would provide an entry point for students who might feel intimidated by activism but who still want to engage with these issues, as well as offering more emphasis on mental health and inclusivity.
