About Us

The University of Exeter AI & Law Society is a forward-looking academic society dedicated to exploring the intersection between artificial intelligence, law, and the future of legal practice. Our core aim is to make emerging technologies in law accessible, understandable, and relevant to students from all backgrounds and degrees.

We welcome law and non-law students alike, and provide members with opportunities to engage critically and practically with how AI is reshaping legal education, the profession, and society more broadly.

Join our society for:

Insight into the Future of Law:

Through talks, panels, and workshops, we explore how AI is transforming legal practice, regulation, ethics, and access to justice - helping members stay ahead of developments shaping the profession.

Careers & Employability Opportunities:

We connect members with lawyers, academics, policymakers, and legal-tech professionals working at the forefront of AI and law, offering valuable insights into emerging career paths and skillsets.

Practical Skills & Workshops:

From AI tools for legal research and drafting to introductory sessions on legal tech and automation, our workshops focus on practical skills students can apply during their degree and beyond.

Collaborative & Interdisciplinary Events:

We work closely with other disciplines to host interdisciplinary events that reflect the real-world overlap between law and technology.

Academic Discussion & Debate:

Our debates, reading groups, and speaker events encourage members to critically examine AI regulation, ethics, data protection, and the role of technology in legal decision-making.

A Growing AI & Law Community:

Join a society committed to curiosity, innovation, and inclusivity - building connections with students who share an interest in the future of law and technology.
