Aims and Objectives:
- Introduce the great outdoors to beginners and show them the types of places they can visit and explore, hopefully inspiring them to do more themselves.
- To pass our knowledge onto others, be it camping skills, map reading skills, knowledge of outdoor equipment and even hiking technique.
- To ensure that we provide something for everyone, some expeditions will be challenging, some will be relaxed. Everyone will be welcome and should feel safe and comfortable within the society.
Those of you brought here via our Facebook page, as well as those who have stumbled across this page - you've reached the greatest society on campus! We are the group who will take you beyond the immediate attraction of the pubs and clubs of Exeter to some of the most stunning, and sometimes challenging, areas of Britain. We are a varied crew of explorers, thrill seekers, and everything in-between.
We run a huge variety of trips throughout the year, from mountains to beaches, wild camping to comfy hostels, and we even have an annual summer trip abroad! If this sounds like the sort of thing you want as part of your University experience then get involved - join up now to find out when our next Firehouse social will be and what trips we'll have on offer!
We hope to see you very soon. You can join ExSoc for the year for just £15 online here, which includes most of the kit you’ll need for the year – tents, waterproof trousers and jackets, roll mats and sleeping bags.
