1. To provide high quality Ballroom and Latin dance lessons to Exeter University students and affiliated members.

2. Promoting Ballroom and Latin dancing within the University.

3. Represent Exeter University at public events and competitions.

Welcome to Exeter University Ballroom and Latin Society!

EUBLS offer weekly Ballroom and Latin lessons for members, non-members and non-students (18+) at Beginner, Novice and Intermediate level. We also represent the University at competitions across the country, the highlight being IVDC in Blackpool, the home of Ballroom! 

Alongside competitions we host events such as Exeter Does Strictly Come Dancing and put on a variety of socials throughout the year! Whether you’ve danced for years or are trying Ballroom and Latin for the first time, we offer something for everyone!

This year, we are introducing biweekly technique classes aimed at all levels ran by Richard and Teresa Tandy, who are very accomplished and experienced in the world of Ballroom and Latin (more info below)!

Membership:

Membership is available to buy on the guild website from 17:00 on September 1st 2026.

Lessons (2026/27):

Classes will commence on Monday 21st September, but there will be taster sessions during fresher's week! See our instagram for more details to come. 

Beginners: £3 for 1, £5 for 2 (members prices)

Monday 6:30-7:15pm - Ballroom
               7:15-8pm- Latin                                                                                                                     

Novice: £3 for 1, £5 for 2 (members prices)

Wednesday 4-4:45pm - Ballroom
               4:45-5:30pm- Latin

Intermediate: £3 for 1, £5 for 2 (members prices)

Wednesday 5:30-6:15pm - Ballroom
               6:15-7pm- Latin

Trainings: All levels

Thursday afternoon/evening 6:30-8:30 - open training for members, music will be played for independent practice.

Sunday afternoon/evening - members only Competition Training, TCs are around for questions and free privates can be booked.

Professional teaching:

We’re so excited to welcome Richard & Teresa Tandy as our new Ballroom and Latin coaches! 💃🕺

Opportunity to attend biweekly technique classes, ran by Richard and Teresa Tandy, aimed at all levels. Private lessons will be offered as well! 

With decades of experience across the competitive, professional and teaching circuits, they have competed throughout the UK and Europe, winning the All England Rising Star Professional Latin Championships and reaching the UK Closed Championship finals.

They’ve also performed and taught internationally, including alongside the ‘Strictly’ brand, and ran a successful dance school in London coaching dancers competing at the world-famous Blackpool Winter Gardens!

We can’t wait to learn from their wealth of experience! They will be offering private lessons and group fortnightly technique classes to sharpen us all up! ✨
