About Us

Exeposé is the University of Exeter's free and independent student newspaper, produced entirely by and for students.

We provide a platform for you to publish your news, comment, features and reviews both online and in print. This year Exeposé is encouraging all aspiring writers to get involved, no matter your experience, background, age or degree, if you're a student at Exeter Uni, we want you!

Of course, you don’t have to be an aspiring journalist to write for Exeposé; absolutely anyone can contribute as much or as little as they like, whether it’s a slickly written album review or a rant about Timepiece. Equally, joining Exeposé will give you a space to create a portfolio, if you're interested in a career in journalism.

Exeposé is renouned for it's connections with media outlets, with our writers, photographers and designers going on to work for major publications, including The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Mail, the BBC, OK!, Xbox 360 Magazine, and many other titles.

Since 1987, Exeposé has given a voice to Exeter students. Over the years, the determination and dedication to journalism exhibited by students through Exeposé has helped shape the University we study at today. We have received national recognition for our award-winning campaigns, investigations and surveys, and always strive to provide students with high quality news, comment and features. If you want to make local change with big impact, writing for Exeposé is the next move.

Get involved for the chance to be part of a friendly society, to have your work published and to make the headlines.

Our objectives:

  • To provide informative and engaging reporting, criticism and comment.
  • To provide a welcoming space where our members can publish their written work and improve their journalistic skills.
  • To publish content in the interests of, and for the benefit of, the student body.

How it works:

Once you have purchased a membership, you will need to join the Exeposé 2024/5 members group on Facebook. This means you will be able to respond to content calls and get writing!

Exeposé has both a print edition and a website. Once a fortnight, the print newspaper is released on campus. Members are encouraged to write on a variety of topics in different sections for both print and online, with many achieving the rainbow award (writing in every section in a year).

We also hold socials incuding winter and summer balls, pub trips, quiz nights and (the much loved) pizza and proofing!

Joining Exeposé also gives you the opportunity to meet students from other media societies on campus through our socials with Xmedia.

Most importantly, Exeposé is a welcoming space for students to learn about, write about, and criticise the world around us. Sound like something you want to be a part of? Grab a membership today, and get started on your journalistic career!
