Welcome to Exeter University Chess Society!

Our chess club is devoted to encouraging Exeter University students to play the great game of chess. The society prides itself on welcoming players of all abilities, including those who have never played before, as well as those who have played internationally! During sessions, we have friendly and competitive games, and offer coaching for any player looking to improve. We compete in local leagues and at the annual British Universities' Chess Association (BUCA) Championships.

Activities/ Events:

We host weekly evening informal sessions: come along, play whoever you want and have a good time! We will also aim to have weekly or bi-weekly socials.

We also will try to host monthly competitions, such as blitz, rapid, team events and even some variants (there will be prizes included of course)!

We also have a lichess team: https://lichess.org/team/exeter-university-chess-society-2023 and we hope to host internal and external matches and arenas on there.
