About Us

The Exeter University Brass Ensemble is a traditional brass ensemble with a modern twist. We are a small group of brass players who meet up weekly to play a repertoire as diverse as our musical instruments - we play more traditional brass tunes such as Prismatic Light, the Floral Dance and more challenging pieces including March of The Resistance from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and lighter, fun arrangements of pop music such as Uptown Funk!

As an unauditioned group, we aim to provide a relaxed and enjoyable musical experience, coming together to rehearse our favourite music and hopefully not deafen whomever has been brave enough to conduct. While we always strive to make the best brass sounds possible, our number one priority is creating a friendly and welcoming environment for all our players.

We perform a formal concert (usually in a church!) in both the autumn and spring terms, whilst also busking throughout the year at Christmas events and shopping centres. We aim to raisea wareness of smaller societies in the Exeter music scene, specifically brass instruments, and we are committed to being inclusive and supportive of all brass players, providing fun and diverse rehearsals.

We are always looking to obtain more music, and if you have any questions please email (above). If you are interested in composing for a ten piece brass ensemble then please get in touch and we will try out the piece(s).

We rehearse every Wednesday in the Broadwood Theatre Space, Kay House Duryard from 18:45 to 20:15. Feel free to drop us a message or just come along and join our rehearsal!
