Exeter Investment Management Society (EXIM) is a pioneering student-led society at the University of Exeter, built around a simple idea: making finance practical, accessible and meritocratic for everyone. 📈

We welcome students from all degree disciplines and are focused on giving our members the knowledge, experience, connections and opportunities to help them land top finance jobs and build successful careers in the industry.

Our approach goes beyond the traditional finance curriculum, exploring real-world topics including active and passive investing, portfolio construction, financial planning, investment trusts, investment research and wealth management. Through our specialised research and learning committees, members can develop practical investment skills and gain hands-on experience.

What we offer:

Industry & Careers: Speaker talks, alumni events, networking opportunities, professional workshops and our EXIM Podcast, giving members direct insight into careers, markets and the investment industry.

Flagship Events: Our annual EXIM Investment Conference, bringing together leading finance professionals for panels, workshops, investment discussions and networking.

Academic & Investment Education: Our CFA Analyst Programme, investment research sessions, portfolio construction, stock-pitching and technical workshops. Members can develop practical skills and earn certificates through selected programmes.

Competitions & Career Pathways: Practical investment competitions and stock pitches that allow members to put their knowledge into practice, demonstrate their ability and access opportunities with leading firms.
