About Us

Do you play the flute? Be it for 10 years or 10 minutes, you are welcome to join Exeter University Flute Choir!

We are a small, friendly, un-auditioned group of enthusiastic flautists who meet each week to play a wide range of repertoire from classical pieces to some fun stage and screen pieces. We also have piccolos, a bass flute and alto flute which members are welcome to try out as well as flutes you can borrow, should you be a beginner, or not have yours in Exeter.

We hold regular socials and termly performances, often in collaboration with other music societies.

Our weekly rehearsal is on Wednesdays from 17:15-18:15 in Cornwall House on the University of Exeter's Streatham campus.

If you have any questions please get in touch via email at flutechoir@groups.exeterguild.com, or through our Facebook or Instagram pages.

We look forward to meeting you!

Aims and Objectives:

  • Provide an all-ability, inclusive environment in which members can enjoy making music with fellow flautists, socialising together and developing relationships with musicians from other societies.
  • Give members the chance to enhance their musical abilities as part of a group, we aim to give every member the opportunity to gain new skills through the piccolo, alto and bass flutes available to try.
  • Strengthen our performance skills together, culminating in termly concerts and performances that will benefit the wider student community and the general public.
