About Us

The Azerbaijani Society at the University of Exeter, established in 2009, serves as a vibrant hub for Azerbaijani students and those interested in Azerbaijani culture. Since its inception, the society has been dedicated to representing Azerbaijan's rich cultural heritage, traditions, and history within the university community. Its primary goal is to unite all Azerbaijanis in Exeter, fostering a sense of community and belonging, while encouraging collective efforts in organizing a wide array of cultural, educational, and social events.

In addition to its focus on Azerbaijani culture, the society also seeks to build bridges with other cultural and student groups. Through active collaboration with other societies, the Azerbaijani Society promotes values of friendship, diversity, and tolerance. By participating in joint events, such as international nights, cultural fairs, and discussions, the society not only shares its unique heritage but also strengthens cross-cultural understanding and cooperation among students from various backgrounds.

Furthermore, the society plays a crucial role in supporting Azerbaijani students in their academic and social lives at Exeter, helping newcomers integrate smoothly into university life, and providing a space for them to celebrate their national identity while forming lasting friendships.
