Welcome to Design Soc!

We are a new student society dedicated to celebrating creativity and exploring the intersection of various design areas. Our mission is to create a dynamic platform where students can express themselves, collaborate with peers, and dive into these exciting disciplines in an inclusive and supportive environment. We currently cover the following: 

• Architecture
• Interior Design
• Fashion/Textiles
• Product Design
• Curatorship and Art History. 

Whether you're aspiring to build a career, looking to expand a current hobby or passion, or simply curious to try something completely new, Design Soc is the perfect space to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded individuals. Throughout the remaining year we will be running various events including:

• Fortnightly Socials across variety of event types involving painting/pottery, pub trips and dinners!
• Speaker Events with industry professionals (Bjarke Ingels Group & RAMM) and design students (Central Saint Martins) to gain an insight into various disciplines and ask any questions you may have. 
• Day Trips to the RAMM & Phoenix museums in Exeter, alongside day trip around galleries in London
• Summer Ball to meet members, network and celebrate the year!
• Potential European Excursion to the Salone di Mobile in Milan in April subject to approval…
• Annual Exhibition later in the year for your artwork and designs around a chosen topic which we hope to display on campus.
• Newsletter on latest design trends, upcoming exhibitions and festivals and general news. 
• Discussion groups between students where you can present or get talking about what interests you.
