About Us

Sweet Nothings are the University of Exeter’s female and gender non-conforming contemporary a cappella group.

This will be our 20th year as a group here at the University of Exeter and in the last five years alone we have won the ICCA quarterfinals and placed 4th in the UK finals, released an EP, as well as successfully sold out a run of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe festival! Being a contemporary group, the songs in our repertoire range from artists such as Taylor Swift to Chappel Roan to even performing original songs from our members.

Our EP, ‘Amplify’, which we released on all streaming platforms in 2019, features the songs “Woman Like Me”, a mashup of “Human/La La La” and the beautiful “Landslide”.

We are a professional performing group with plans of singing around Exeter, busking, participating in the ICCAs and returning for our twelfth year at Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

We hope you are as excited as we are about this year and hope to catch you at auditions on the 24th, 25th and 26th September!

Feel free to send us a message on our socials/email or catch us at the 2024 Welcome Week; we will be around campus all week but specifically at our stall on Tuesday (17th September) if you have any questions about the group!

We look forward to meeting you!
