Exeter’s student community for all music lovers! 

At Gig Soc, we bring together students who share a passion for music in all its forms — from indie and rock to pop, metal, and everything in between. We’re all about discovering new artists, going to gigs, and enjoying the social side of music culture. Founded in 2024, we’re still a young society, but we’ve already built a welcoming space where many students have found real friendships through music.

We run a wide range of events throughout the year, with something for every kind of music lover.  Our socials include café meetups, jazz nights, vinyl‑and‑cocktail evenings, and creative sessions like painting old or damaged vinyl’s. For those who love a night out, we also host indie club nights, music pub quizzes, pub crawls, as well as plenty of relaxed socials simply designed for meeting new people and hanging out. 

Collaboration is a huge part of what we do — we’ve teamed up with campus bands, Rock & Metal, Photography Society, Campus Cinema, Latin Orchestra, and even Archery to create fun, unique, music‑themed events. Membership gives you discounted and members‑only tickets, plus access to our WhatsApp community where we share playlists and keep everyone updated on live music around Exeter. Whether you’re a regular gig‑goer or just starting to explore live music, Gig Soc is a great place to meet people, share your favourite tracks, and discover new sounds. It’s also a brilliant way to uncover new venues and hidden spots around Exeter — giving you fun things to do in the city you might not have found otherwise.
