Welcome to the Exeter University Open Water Swimming Society! We are a friendly and inclusive group who share a love for open water swimming and the refreshing experience of taking a dip in some of the most beautiful spots along the Devon coastline.

Last year we reached 450 members making us the 5th biggest society in Exeter and a great way to meet new people in a relaxed community. 

Every Sunday, we meet at the Exeter train stations to catch the 9:20 am train, from St James Park, to nearby beaches like Dawlish Warren, Coryton Cove, and Teignmouth, where we enjoy our weekly swims. We have both experienced swimmers training for competitions, and those who just head for a quick social dip in the sea, our society is open to all. We do ask if you participate in swims that you are a competent swimmer but everyone is welcome at our socials!

We also host a wide range of socials, collabs and trips to get involved with over the year. Watch out for our collaboration with Movember and 13+ other societies at the Big Dip 2026. 

Membership is free so give it a go and join us at one swim to sea what it's all about!
