Welcome to the Exeter Labour Society!

We are the largest political society on campus, and one of the biggest and most active of its kind in the UK. For just £7.50, you'll gain access to all of our award-winning events, including:

• Regular Socials: We put the social in socialism - our socials are central to what we do! From our much-loved fortnightly Pints and Policy evenings, to pub quizzes, pizza nights, board game socials, and beach trips in the summer, there's always something going on! These events are a great way to meet like-minded people, make new friends, and become a part of a welcoming community.
• Speaker Events: We've welcomed a wide range of inspiring voices, from government ministers, such as Wes Streeting and Luke Pollard, to local MPs and peers, as well as leading socialist, feminist, and left-wing thinkers and activists. These regular events give members the opportunity to hear directly from people at the heart of politics, ask questions in an open setting, and gain unique insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the Labour movement today.
• Campaigns: We run regular campaign trips - from canvassing locally in Exeter, to joining efforts in nearby cities such as Bath, Bristol, and Plymouth, as well as teaming up with other Labour Students clubs across the country. Our members have also taken part in national events, such as Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, and even visited Parliament!
• Roundtable Debates: New for 2025/26 Our roundtable debates are a chance for members to come together and debate big issues in a relaxed and open setting. Everyone has a voice, and it is great to share ideas, hear different perspectives, and slag off the Tories.
• Women's Socials: We're proud to host monthly women's socials. These socials create a supportive space to connect and celebrate the vital role that women play in the Labour movement and the wider left. Whether it's over coffee or a relaxed activity, our women's socials are all about building friendships.
• Intramural Sport: New for 2025/26 We enter teams into the university's intramural football and netball leagues, giving members the chance to get active and have fun.
• Summer Black-Tie Event: The highlight of the society's calendar - a chance to celebrate the year, dress-up, and enjoy an evening of good food, great music, and great company. We're always joined by a very special guest or two…
