About Us

Welcome to the International Relations Society! We are the home of everything IR at Exeter!

The current international space is very volatile with a variety of issues and topics from all over the globe making up your news headlines. IR affects everyone because it is everything. It's more than just countries and geopolitics, it's conflict, peace, development, NGO’s, climate change, the UN, economics, culture, identity, statehood, language, race, gender, education, law, communities and much more.

Everyone interacts with these aspects of the world and so if they mean something to you and you are interested in them, whether studying IR or not, this is a great society for you to be a part of.

Our fantastic committee has worked hard to create many opportunities for you to be involved in this year! As an IR member you can get involved in:

  • Fun socials in and around Exeter!
  • Speaker events from industry professionals in government, business and academia.
  • Chances to network with professionals with IR backgrounds.
  • Skill development opportunities specific for IR students such as crisis management, applied negotiation, and briefing senior officials and ministers.
  • The chance to write for our online journal the Atlas Review!
  • Extensive academic support through regular drop-in sessions
  • Wellbeing support
  • Collaborative events with other societies and institutions at the university
  • Potentially joining committee

…and much more!
