Welcome to Legion! 

We're a diverse dance society with a strong grounding across hip-hop, commercial and contemporary styles. Our focus is on empowering individuals through dance, providing performance opportunities to all members. We pride ourselves on celebrating diversity and inclusivity as we push for a more collaborative environment in Exeter, within and outside the university. 

For the 25/26 season, we offer a wide range of classes catered to both beginner and intermediate/advanced dancers, specialising in:

• Commercial
• Heels
• Contemporary fusion (Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz)
• Street/Hip hop
• Bollywood
• Breaking
• Dance fitness and technique

Whether you've never taken a class or have been dancing for years, there's definitely something for you here at Legion! 

All members are offered opportunities to perform throughout the year, with the highlights being our annual winter and spring showcases in collaboration with other UoE dance societies. Keep an eye on our socials to find out more!

Want to try competitions?

Our competition teams were restarted following the pandemic in the 2023/24 season. In the last two years, our jazz, contemporary, street, heels and commercial teams have won numerous awards (8 in the past year, including outstanding choreography!) across beginner, intermediate and mixed level categories. 

Following the success of our 24/25 competition season, we're excited to announce teams in the following styles:

Auditions typically occur in weeks 2-4 of term 1, so please keep an eye on our social media for more information.
