Welcome to the University of Exeter Salsa Society!

We are a fun, welcoming and inclusive society looking to share our passion for dance. We run high-quality Salsa, Bachata and Rueda classes, taught by professional teachers, for students, staff and members of the public. It doesn't matter whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro; a natural dancer or have two left feet- we have classes for all levels of experience!

You can look forward a large variety of socials throughout the year; including our Winter Ball and even our internal-university Salsa Competition- where you can showcase everything you've learnt in a fun, low-pressure environment. Look out for getting your own salsa stash too!

Thanks to our wonderful teachers, we're also connected to a wider Exeter dance scene, providing plenty of opportunities for extra classes, workshops, socials and festivals (often with discounted prices!).

RUEDA EVERY MONDAY

With Tamas at the Lemon Grove (Main Room)

• 18:00-19:00 Mixed Level      ~All levels of experience welcome! Classes have a 4-week progression, then every 5th class recaps the basic steps and fundamental techniques~

SALSA EVERY WEDNESDAY 

With Chris & Lily at the Lemon Grove (Main Room)

• 19:00-20:00 Fundamentals   ~For those with little to no experience who want to learn the essential salsa building blocks! Each week we recap the basic steps and follow a 5-week rotation of fundamental moves.~
• 20:00-21:00 Improvers        ~For those who know the 5 fundamental moves and want to develop these moves alongside musicality and styling!~
• 21:00-22:00 Intermediate   ~For those who can confidently lead the fundamental moves every time and want more challenging sequences and spins!~

BACHATA EVERY THURSDAY 

With Mariana at the Lemon Grove (Main Room)

• 18:00-19:00 Beginners        ~For those with little to no experience who want to learn the basic steps, fundamental techniques and moves!~
• 19:00-20:00 Intermediate   ~For those who feel confident enough to tackle more complicated techniques and improve their dance skills to a higher level!~

*Both classes teach all 3 types: Bachata Moderna, Bachata Sensual and Dominican/ Traditional Bachata
