Society Description
The Exeter AI Fund was established to empower students at the University of Exeter with the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to understand and navigate the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and investment finance. It seeks to provide a platform for students to explore the rapidly evolving AI industry, analyse its impact on global markets, and develop their own investment strategies through practical, hands-on experience.
By combining education, collaboration, and real-world application, the society aims to foster a community of aspiring investment analysts and asset managers who are well-versed in the potential of AI to shape the future of finance and the global economy.
Aims of the Exeter AI Fund:
1. Upskill Members: Provide resources, tools, and mentorship to equip members with strong foundations in financial analysis, investment strategy, and AI market trends.
2. Promote Practical Learning: Offer hands-on experience through the creation and management of a virtual AI-focused portfolio, allowing members to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.
3. Encourage Collaboration: Create an inclusive environment where students from diverse academic backgrounds can collaborate, learn, and share ideas.
4. Build Industry Connections: Facilitate networking opportunities by inviting industry professionals as guest speakers, hosting events, and building partnerships with companies and organisations.
5. Foster Innovation and Research: Encourage the exploration of innovative AI applications and support members in researching cutting-edge AI companies and technologies.
Mission Statement:
The Exeter AI Fund is dedicated to empowering students with the skills and confidence to analyse and invest in the future of artificial intelligence. Through education, collaboration, and practical experience, we aim to cultivate a generation of forward-thinking leaders who can leverage AI’s transformative potential to drive success in the finance and investment industries.
