Women In Politics

Society Registrations submitted on Jan 19, 2024

Society Description

I want to create this society because there is a lack of women spaces within the standard political discourse. As politics is a male dominated space without a safe and supportive space for women to thrive and active participation in political leadership roles.

The aims of Women in Politics:

Provide a platform for women interested in politics to connect, support each other, and share experiences in a field where they are traditionally underrepresented.

To educate members and the broader community about issues women face in politics, gender disparities, and the importance of female representation in governance.

To advocate for policies that promote gender equality in politics and encourage more women to enter politics and foster a diverse and inclusive political community.

The objectives

Empowerment: develop an empowerment and supportive group of women for students interested in politics. Allowing women to actively engage in politics by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support.

Advocacy for Gender Equality: Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote gender equality in political representation, decision-making processes, and leadership roles.

Education and Awareness: Raise awareness about the challenges women face in politics, such as gender bias, discrimination, and stereotypes, and educate the community about the importance of gender diversity in governance.

Support and Networking: to create a supportive network where women interested in politics can connect, share experiences, offer mentorship, and provide mutual support.

Promotion of Female Role Models: to help highlight and celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in politics to inspire others to pursue similar paths.
