Women's health society

Society Registrations submitted on Oct 14, 2025

Society Description

I want to start this society because there are gender disparities in every aspect of medicine- from application to senior clinician, and misconceptions surrounding women's health are everywhere. As future doctors, we have a duty to provide the best care possible and we would like the opportunity to learn and teach others how they can do this. This society aims to do the following:

- address and correct common misconceptions related to women's health

- give people a safe space to share their personal stories and provide support and guidance

- guide women towards medical opportunities

- address disparities within the medical school teaching such as learning CPR on flat chested dummies (e.g. delivery a teach on basic life support training on a woman's body)

- create a support system for like-minded people to come together in a field that can tend to be male-dominated and male-centred

- educate others around various conditions specific to or primarily affecting women
