- Students who are interested in climate activism would benefit from hearing about the stories of people who have taken part in protests before, some of whom are currently enrolled at Exeter Uni

- Students who are concerned about the climate crisis would have a space to connect with other students who are also concerned, and the society could act as a kind of wellbeing and community space for people to share their concerns

- The national Just Stop Oil campaign is supported by various professors and lecturers at Exeter Uni, including climate scientists
