Society Description
We want to start this society to provide a safe space for members of the Deaf Community on campus. There is currently a gap in the Guild in providing a space for members of this group and we would love to fulfill it. Other socials and societies are often inaccessible for members of the Deaf Community due to communication barriers or accessibility needs. We want to provide this space for students through our aims as listed below:
- Promotion of Deaf Culture- including Sign Language,
- Provide a support network for all members of the Deaf Community
- Inclusion and creation of a safe and accessible environment on campus
-Advocate on accessibility related matters- provide support and signposting and serve as a support for members when issues are faced within the wider University community
