Society Description

Aims

To support UNICEF UK’s mission of protecting and promoting children’s rights worldwide.

To raise awareness within the University of Exeter about global issues affecting children, including education, health, conflict, inequality and child protection.

To fundraise for UNICEF UK through creative, student-led events and campaigns.

To build a community of students passionate about global development, social justice and humanitarian action.

To empower students with opportunities to volunteer, advocate and develop leadership skills.

Objectives

Organise regular fundraising activities (e.g., charity sales, sponsored events, themed socials) to contribute to UNICEF’s work.

Deliver educational and awareness-raising events, such as talks, workshops, campus stalls and film screenings.

Participate in and promote UNICEF UK national campaigns on campus (e.g., children’s rights, emergency relief, refugee protection).

Collaborate with other societies, university departments and local groups to increase reach and impact.

Provide members with volunteering opportunities and chances to engage in meaningful social action.

Maintain strong communication with UNICEF UK On Campus representatives and follow ethical fundraising guidelines.

Ensure the society is inclusive, accessible and supportive for all members.

Build sustainable annual plans so the society grows each year and supports long-term engagement.
