After being a successful society for over 10 years, our president from last year missed the deadline to renew the society over the summer and we were told to wait to reapply until now. 

Last year we ran a weekly tournament on campus for all of our members which had a regular 50 person turnout and would love to carry this on this year. 

We have a Facebook page with over 1000 members and over 200 new members since freshers week this year. We constantly get messages from last year's members asking when the society will return as well as messages from new member asking what we have to offer. 

Our main aim would be to continue running our weekly tournament and provide a platform for keen and new players to be able to play poker in a responsible environment.

Becoming a society again would allow us to find new players that would be in playing through being listed on the society page.

We were going to buy new tables and chipsets at the end of last year with the money we had been saving up in our society account for the last few years however that never happened so it would be great to be able to improve our current equipment as well. This could be funded through a membership fee.
