Why Do You Want to Start This Society?

I want to start the Exeter Mergers & Acquisitions Society because I see a gap in the opportunities available to students interested in Corporate Finance at the University of Exeter. Many students are eager to break into Investment Banking, Private Equity, and M&A but lack access to industry connections, guidance, and practical experience. This society will bridge that gap by providing structured resources, networking opportunities, and career support.

Aims and Objectives:

Establish the University of Exeter’s First and Only Corporate Finance Society

- Create a platform focused solely on Mergers & Acquisitions, Investment Banking, and Private Equity.

- Provide students with structured exposure to the industry and relevant career paths.

Host Speaker Events and Networking Opportunities

- Invite industry professionals from top investment banks, private equity firms, and corporate finance teams to share insights and career advice.

- Facilitate exclusive networking sessions to help students build valuable professional relationships.

Provide Internship & Career Opportunities

- Leverage our connections with finance professionals and firms to help members secure internships, insight days, and work experience.

- Offer CV workshops, mock interviews, and application guidance to support students in the recruitment process.

Promote Equal Access to Finance Careers

- Ensure that all students, regardless of background, have access to the best roles in finance.
